Filming The Return Of The Musketeers in Spain proved fatal after Kinnear fell off a horse and broke his hip. The British actor was taken to the hospital, however, the next day, on September 20, 1988, he suffered a heart attack and died. Kinnear’s death was not the only casualty, either, as director Richard Lester’s film career was also over shortly after the death of Kinnear.
